Write for us

Curious Arts Spotlight welcomes pitches that help readers notice something specific about an art form. We value clear thinking, fresh angles and writing that makes room for a reader’s own response.

What to pitch

We consider concise essays, comparisons, explainers and close readings across visual art, music, books, theatre and dance. A strong idea has a clear subject and a reason it matters to a curious reader. It might unpack one formal choice, compare two approaches or offer a thoughtful way to experience a work.

What makes a good proposal

Please explain the central idea, the art form or work you want to discuss, and what readers will be able to notice or understand afterward. Share a brief outline and relevant writing samples if you have them. Keep claims specific, identify interpretation as interpretation, and avoid pitches that depend on unsupported assertions or access we have not agreed to.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please wait for a reply before drafting a full piece. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.
